I'm away from home and car for long periods of time, and the time I get out of my battery is outstanding. With heavy use,(FB, e-mail, texting,) I can get a full day, without even thinking about having to recharge, and the talk time is awesome. with moderate use, I can get almost 3 days out of it (I experimented with draining it all the way down), and a longer charge time, but that is normally overnight for me.
The only con I had, is the extra bulk made it hard to find a carrying solution, but I was able to solve that after about a week, at a mall kiosk.
I definitely recommend getting this battery, WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!

(More customer reviews)I consider an essential battery for the Pre. It more than doubles the battery life. The battery cover easily comes on and off, making it a good replacement cover for the Pre. The camera is not affected by the cover. The new case and battery are a little bulky, but that actually makes the Pre easier to slide open. I found the Pre to be easier to handle because of this. The battery arrived 50% charged and I never had any issues with charging/ discharging.

Price: Cheaper than the initial cost of a replacement battery for my Palm Pre
Portability: Although bigger than my Pre or an iPhone, it slips into a pocket or briefcase. The retractable USB cord allows connectability to the smartphone/device without having to pull the backup out of the pocket/briefcase.
Versatility: This backup device came with several plug adapters - not just the mini USB that my Palm Pre uses. It looks like it has the ability to power up other devices such as iPods, GPS' etc. Compatibility check recommended...
I bought this to use for when my power-hungry Palm Pre started to lose its battery power and an A/C, USB or car power outlet wasn't available. The ice rink for instance.
Because swapping the battery in a Pre is time consuming (powering down, battery swap, then powering up) this is a much better alternative.
My only gripe is that this came with no instructions whatsoever. I therefore have no idea what devices this can power/charge besides my Pre. I had to guess at first-time charging & use. Basically it gets its charge from a USB (running on wall current). The blue lights sequence until the unit is fully charged, which in my case took 4 or 5 hours. When using, the silver power button is pushed for a second or so and the blue lights illuminate showing power on & the amount of charge available.

I initially tried this with a (top quality) Motorola micro USB car cord, and the charging cycled on and off continually (like every second!!!). There is a difference between cords, apparently, and the Touchstone system does require a higher current flow. I know that there are other cords that advertise high rate charging, but I haven't tried any of them yet.

Palm Spare Battery Charger for Palm Pre Review

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these 6 weeks ago, for those rare occasions where I used my phone so much that I needed to swap batteries. Turns out the device has trouble staying in 'charge' mode. After putting the battery and plugging it in, I get that flashing amber 'malfunction' indicator 9 times out of 10. I get this regardless of which way I put the battery in (there's only one way that fits). I try unplugging the Palm Micro USB cable from the charger and re-plugging it in over and over, with the same result.
Even worse, when I do finally get it plugged in and charging (showing the red indicator light), I am afraid to even bump the thing for fear of knocking it out of whack. Yesterday I let my spare battery sit in the charger until I got the green 'fully charged' indicator; when I loaded the supposedly-charged battery into my phone, it has 6% power remaining! Perhaps mine is defective, but I'm going to contact Amazon and hope they will take it back after all this time.

(More customer reviews)Poor quality product. The battery life is longer, however, either the fit is off, or there is a defect in the battery design. When sliding the phone shut, it will sometimes lose power and shut off completely. At first, I thought it was my phone, but when I put the factory battery in, the issue went away completely. Assuming it was just a bad battery, I exchanged it for a new one with Amazon, however, it too does the same thing. If you can deal with potentially losing whatever you're doing when you close the phone, it does last longer, but I'd probably advise to stay away from this product. It's just not worth it, and who knows what will go wrong next.

It really frees up my pre to not have it plugged in all the time and to be able to similtaniously charge my spare battery while charging the one in the phone is awful nice. (More customer reviews)Apparently when the PRE was first released, the included batteries were Korean made and had a minor issue with the fit where the battery could slip a little and re-start the phone when the keyboard was snapped opened or closed. Palm later corrected this with batteries manufactured in China that did not have this issue. The battery I received is the Korean battery with the problem. Had I paid full price for the battery, I would be rather irritated, but since I purchased this at a high discount to use as a backup, I'll live with it and rate the battery at 3 stars. Seidio Innocell Battery for Palm Pre (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)The product is what it says it is. It adds significantly to the battery life--Seidio claims 90% more. I haven't even attempted any scientific test, but it has changed me from having my Pre typically at 10-20% of battery life remaining at the end of the workday to having about 50%. Substantial improvement!
For me, almost as important as the battery life is the coating on the outside of the replacement battery cover provided. One of the things I disliked greatly about the Pre is that the sleek and shiny surface of the case makes me live in constant fear I'll drop the thing. The added bulk of this battery means that it needs more room than in the factory case, so when Seidio provided a new roomier battery cover, it coated it with a soft, slightly grippy substance that makes me feel a LOT more comfortable with my Pre! I like this a lot. If you have handled a Treo 755p (and presumably other late-model Treos) the coating is similar to the grippy stuff on those phones. This is a worthwhile upgrade in itself! It has a more matte appearance compared to the shiny surface of the original case, and if you are highly sensitive to appearances, you may dislike the mismatch between the top case around the screen and the bottom case with the coating. Doesn't bother me at all, though.
The downsides are minor for me, but I am one of those who is hung up on function over form. Shifting to this battery and battery cover means your Pre will bulk up quite a bit! It is much thicker, and I've seen others compare the new form factor to a hockey puck. I'd prefer the Pre be smaller and thinner, but it doesn't bother me that much. With the bigger battery installed, my Pre is about the same size as my old Treo 755p--A tiny bit thicker and definitely not as "tall" in the longest dimension. As of now, I know of no battery case that is designed to fit this combination. Presumably Seidio will provide one soon, and you can probably locate one that works by trying out cases designed for larger phones, but I am carrying my Pre in my pants pocket "bareback" for now.
For me, this was an excellent upgrade.
